Dodgeville Lodge No. 119’s recent pasty sale raised and donated $1,090 to the Santa Cop Organization. The lodge has multiple students assisting with the making of pasties. The students sent the following comments:
My name is Tristan Wirkus. I am 19 years old and from Strat-ford Wis. I am currently a freshman at University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire. and pursuing a Geography major with a minor in computer science I am hoping to attain a career as a GIS Specialist and to continue per-forming research. Learning how to make pasties was a rewarding and enjoyable experience. I would love to come back and help make pasties in Dodgeville again.
My name is Andis Romanovs. I was born in 1997 in Riga, the capital of Latvia, I am an exchange student from Latvia and primarily studying Economics at University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire. I have a master’s degree from Riga Technical University. I heard about making pasties from a friend of mine and wanted to help, so four of us drove down from Wausau to help the Masons in Dodgeville make pasties.
I am Giulia Lelli. I am 19 years old and born in Como Italy. I was an Exchange student in Michigan (2019-2020) and currently attending University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire. I am majoring in Neuroscience. I had the pleasure to help prepare pasties in Dodgeville Wisconsin. It was a really fun activity for a good cause, and I also had the chance to meet a lot of nice, sweet people. I hope I will be able to come here and help out some other time.
My name is Katherine McCallum. I am 18 years old and born in Wausau Wisconsin. I am a freshman at University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire studying Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Computer science and Chemistry. I am currently in a research project about Gastrointestinal Dis-eases. I have been helping the Masons ever since I was little and when my grandpa told me about this sale, I wanted to bring my friends. I am really glad I did. It was a lot of fun and enjoyed sharing these experiences.
My name is Drew McCallum. I am 21 years old and currently at-tending University of Wisconsin—Platteville majoring in Elementary Education. I started my college journey at UW Stevens Point with the goal of Mechanical Engineering. After working at a summer school, I realized my true passion was teaching. I transferred to University of Wisconsin—Platteville and have been there since. I have been helping out with the pasty sale each month and volunteer my time.
