“Acts of Kindness” Helps Feed Those in Need in Montello

Just in time for the holidays, Montello Masonic Lodge No. 141 made a financial contribution to the Care & Share Food Bank of Marquette County. This community donation was made possible by a generous individual gift and a matching grant program sponsored by the Wisconsin Masonic Foundation’s “Acts of Kindness” program.

Brother Darrell Smith recalls a childhood memory from the eighth grade. “I vividly recall the day that my dad drove up to the church rectory. He proceeded to unload bag after bag, carrying heaping armfuls of groceries inside. At our dinner table that evening I asked him about his delivery. He said, ‘Son, there are a lot of folks who don’t eat as well as us, and we are sharing the bounty of America with others at Christmas.’”

To honor a legacy of generosity, the Smith family and the members of Montello Lodge with Freemasons across Wisconsin are sharing with the folks of Marquette County.
