Grand Master’s Message – March 2023

I’m Proud to be a Freemason!

I’m Proud of who we are!

I’m Proud of what we do!

February 4th was a HUGE day for membership growth for Wisconsin Freemasonry! We had six Lodges conferring Master Mason degrees and we raised over 60 Master Masons throughout the state.  Three of these Lodges facilitated Masonic Day of Light events sponsored by the Scottish Rite. An amazing partnership!

There is no doubt we are now relevant in the state of Wisconsin and now that we’re relevant the good men of our communities are reaching out to join us.  Now it’s our job to deliver. It’s our job to deliver by adding value to their lives. By making them better men, by making our communities better and safer, and by improving ourselves.

On a side note, I will admit it’s fun to start my articles consistently with positive news about what’s happening in our Fraternity throughout the state of Wisconsin.  I’m on the eve of attending the Conference of Grand Masters of North America.  How do you think I feel right now representing you!!! 😊

It’s hard to believe that as you read this, I will only have 25% of my term as your Grand Master remaining. I believe, by any standard, the impact your Wisconsin Freemasonry Leadership team has had this year will be classified as outstanding. You have a tremendous amount of talent serving you as part of the Leadership Team. From the various Masonic Boards and committees, District Membership Representatives, District Representatives, District Lecturers, District Deputies, other appointed Grand Lodge Officers, and those that you elected they are an unbelievable group of talented men. They are truly committed to making us better. You should be extremely proud to have them as your Leaders.  The future is extremely bright for Wisconsin Freemasonry!

..but we’re not done yet!  You will see plenty more!

  • We have another Masonic Day of Light in Oshkosh on April 1st hosted by our York Rite… and there may be more.
  • We have several “batched” degree days scheduled throughout the State.
  • We have several resolutions being drafted for your delegates to consider at the upcoming Annual Communication.
  • Restoration letters facilitating your efforts to reach out to those Brothers that have left us that you’d like back.
  • Communication to help to you enhance your community presence. The next step after presenting Fire Suppression Tools in your community.
  • Continued education!
  • Continued membership efforts! Did I mention we’ve crossed over 2,100 men expressing an interest in learning more about Freemasonry via our website wimasons.org! 650 have been introduced to our Lodges!! Now it is up to you to determine if they are a good fit for your Lodge culture!!!
  • And much more…

A repeat from last month… Please act like a Freemason every day and everywhere.  Our communities are looking for leaders. Your behaviors matter.  Every Day and Everywhere. Being a gentleman is infectious. When people see you demonstrating great behavior, they copy it.

Last month I published a quote for you, here’s another: “Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the World: Indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead

Please remember the unbelievable impact Freemasonry has on your local community. We matter! We teach others. We demonstrate good behavior.  We serve our communities, making them safer and better places to live for all.
