Sheyboygan Freemasons create backpacks for needy

Sheboygan Freemasons Lodge (No. 11) recently put backpacks together which included much-needed items for the homeless in Sheboygan County. Each backpack contains a fleece blanket, a mylar emergency blanket, knit hat, gloves, toiletry items and a bible. These bags were distributed in early December.

The idea for this was brought before the lodge by our newest Master Mason, Tony Bliesner. Brother Tony has volunteered with the Salvation Army for a number of years and shared with us that there are many homeless that fall through the cracks and can’t even go to the limited warming shelters in the community.

Sheboygan Lodge’s Master Jay Apel, worked with Brother Tony on pulling this together. We had help putting the backpacks together from Cub Scouts from Pack 3861, Sheboygan, Wis., Arrow of Light Den. It’s never to early to start helping your fellow man. Thank you Arrow of Light. Pictured, from left: Brother Martin Clatanoff, Cub Scout Noah, Cub Scout Grayson and Mr. Mark Erdmann.
