Janesville Freemasons Support ECHO Food Bank and Project 16:49

The Brothers of Janesville-Western Star Masonic Lodge (No. 55) had a busy and fulfilling meeting night on March 11th. They were the host lodge for District 9 Lecturer Brad Behlke’s School of Instruction and earlier in the evening presented “two big checks” to local charities.

The first check went to Local Food Bank ECHO who received a check for $800 from the Lodge’s participation in the Stick it to Bruce campaign – A challenge from Brother Bruce Eshelman.

The Brethren of the Lodge were once again able to provide a check for $1,649 to Project 16:49. Project 16:49 is a group that does a variety of things to help support and empower homeless youth. Pictured above, Project 16:49 Executive Director Tammy DeGarmo receives a check from PM Derek Henze, Junior Warden Pete Ryan and Master Sven Ahlstrom. Checks were presented to Project 16:49 in Nov. 2022 in the amount of $1,000 and in Nov. 2023 in the amount of $1,649 – bringing their commitment to this cause up to nearly $4,300 in the past 18 months!

The Lodge has been a long-time supporter of 16:49. More recently members of the Lodge have challenged themselves to support this group — and have doubled or tripled the impact to that organization.
