Freemasons of Glenn L Humphrey Lodge (No. 364) of Three Pillars, presented scholarships to seven Three Pillars employees as their investment in their education and training on July 24. The seven scholarships total $6,000. Each scholar was thanked for their dedication and for their jobs well done.
The scholarship program has been an annual event for nearly a decade. The total amount given to 162 employees since 2016 has been $109,450. The funds come from generous contributions from Lodge members and their families; from former and current residents; as well as from gifts, endowments, and donor-advised funds.
We realize that the term “scholarship” tends to imply funding for college. But not everyone pursues a college education. At the same time, education is necessary for so many careers. These are the people whom we encounter to help us in our daily life.
We appreciate the very helpful assistance of the Three Pillars staff in facilitating our endeavor. And while it is true that most of our benefactors are from our membership, we eagerly accept help to support those who help us each and every day of our lives.
