Green Dragon’s 4th Annual Grand Master’s Charity Ride

By Richard “English” Moulding and Robert Johnson of the Green Dragons Chapter of the Widows Sons

The Green Dragons Chapter of the Widows Sons hosted the 4th annual charity ride August 3, with the proceeds benefiting the Grand Master’s charity appeal Acts of Kindness. Pictured above, Grand Master Thomas W. Stevens rides over the bridge at Three Pillars with Bro. Terry “Toxic” McShane.

Riders prepare to leave for the days ride.

The pre-ride party was hosted by the President “English” of the Green Dragons the day before the ride. There was live music by a Brother and future Green Dragon Michael Stadler “Shakes”, who agreed to play for the Dragons at no charge. Brother “Shakes” accepted donations for the St John’s DeMolay Chapter that he was instrumental in starting. The food, refreshments and music made for a very festive event. The Grand Master and his family I believe had a great time. The Brothers and wives from the Keystone Chapter of the Widows Sons came down and parked trailers at “English’s estate” and enjoyed the pre and after party celebration of friendship and brotherly love. Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

The Vice President “Dead Eye” of the Green Dragons lead the parade of about 35 riders and passengers from the Mobile Station in Dousman throughout the many roads and paths that flow through the Three Pillars campus. The residents of Three Pillars watched and waved to the riders either from outside or from their window. The motorcyclists responded to the warm reception by either honking their horns or revving up their engines with a deep throating sound.

Brother Bill and Patty Bailey lead the ride through the Three Pillars Campus on the Trishaw piloted by Brother Ed Cooke. All three are residents at Three Pillars in the Village on the Square community.

Then the entourage of motorcycles lead by Dead Eye continued the ride throughout the Kettle Moraine area. The weary travelers first stopped to rest and refresh themselves at Holly’s Como Inn, Lake Geneva. The rider’s supported the toy drive at Holly’s Como Inn by over flowing the donation box with toys or by generosity donating money to the toy drive. The travelers then continued on to the final destination to Honey Lake Inn, Burlington. The weary travelers were once again able to rest and refresh themselves with a drink from the bar and a fine meal prepared by “RePete.” There were drawings for several interesting items.

Riders stop by the Honey Lake Inn in Burlington.

It was a great event and an excellent ride for all who attended. The money raised for the Grand Master will be put to good use supporting The Act of Kindness Appeal.

Grand Master Stevens received
special coins from Green Dragon President Richard “English” Moulding.

Each year there is a uniquely designed Grand Master’s ride coin available with a $20 donation. The donations for the coins support the Grand Master’s charity appeal Acts of Kindness.

A special Presidents coin is available for $23.19, 100% of the proceeds is going to the Wisconsin children’s Hospital. The goal is to raise $10,000 for the children of Wisconsin.

There is also a Green Dragon Chapter coin available with a $20 donation. The donations for the coins support the many Green Dragon’s activities throughout the year.

The Green Dragon’s outpouring of charity is not limited to just masonic events. The chapter is also being asked by Metro Milwaukee Indian Dealership of Muskego to lead or support their charity rides.

The Widows Sons is a vibrant and growing community of Brothers who share a love of masonry and motorcycles.
