WI Freemasons – We build communities!
I know a lot of lodges enjoy community service projects. Taking a page from that book, our WI Freemasonry leadership team and ladies took part in a morning of outreach in SE WI during our Fall full staff meeting. In addition to clean-up work at the Fischer House Veterans’ Home, we spread out across Dineen Park in our matching blue Wisconsin Freemasonry shirts for garbage pickup. You wouldn’t believe some of the crazy finds the leadership team had while taking on our Leadership Team Community Service projects in Milwaukee! DD Paul Larson and Lady Kim found an entire push lawn mower! Some other items may be unmentionable in this column, but ask some officers during one of the upcoming Fall District meetings. It’ll be good for a few laughs.
The message is simple. It feels good to volunteer and can be a lot of fun to spend time working in service with good men. It forges connections and friendships beyond the lodge room. It is also clear that Masons are built differently. I’ve heard so many stories of brothers stepping up to help one another across the state. Opening your home to traveling brothers, lining up trucks and trailers for a brother making a move, prepping meals for a brother’s family in need….the stories of fraternal bonds exemplified by our selfless actions are what make Freemasonry unique. Connect with us and share your stories and experiences on our WI Freemasons Facebook page. Your contributions inspire others and highlight the incredible work we do as Masons.
How do we create these tight bonds so quickly?! It starts with the shared experiences through our ritual. It is our competitive advantage and it should be done well! Practice with your lodge and leave a positive first impression on our new brothers. Positive member engagement is critical to our future success. Mentors should take advantage of the Ashlar program. Connect with new Educational offerings coming from the WI Education committee. Encourage new brothers to provide feedback via new member surveys. The leadership team is committed to helping lodges get new brothers off on the left foot. đŸ˜‰
As we continue to engage with our communities and new members, let’s remember the impact we can have. Whether it’s through large-scale projects or small acts of kindness, every effort counts. Let’s keep building communities, one act of service and one new brother at a time!
