Hello, Brethren!
As we come together in our Lodges, we embrace the values of brotherly love, relief, and truth. But let’s not forget that these principles extend beyond our meetings. Our communities depend on a special group of people who are always ready to jump into action when we need them most—our first responders. I encourage you to focus on a crucial way we can show our support: by donating AEDs and Fire Suppression Tools (FSTs) to those who protect us day and night.
What’s the Deal with AEDs and FSTs?
Let’s break it down. AEDs, or Automated External Defibrillators, are life-saving devices used in emergencies to restart a person’s heart during a cardiac arrest. FSTs, or Fire Suppression Tools, are critical equipment used to combat fires quickly and effectively, often bridging the gap until full fire services arrive.
These tools are essential for keeping our communities safe, but many public spaces, as well as local police and fire departments are in dire need of them.
Why Should Wisconsin Free-masons Step Up?
Freemasonry is all about making a positive difference in the world. By contributing to the purchase of AEDs and FSTs, we’re putting our values into action and supporting those who are always there for us. Here’s how you can get involved:
1. Host Fundraisers: Think about organizing lodge events like pancake breakfasts, charity auctions, car shows, fishing derby’s or a First Responder “touch-a-truck” day specifically to “Fill the Bag” and raise funds for AEDs and FSTs. These events not only raise money but also bring attention to the importance of these tools.
2. Community Collaboration: Team up with local businesses and community organizations. Many are eager to support important causes like this and may match donations or contribute to fund drives.
3. Direct Contributions: If your Lodge or personal finances allow, consider making a direct donation to the Wisconsin Masonic Foundation to help us provide these essential tools throughout the entire state.
4. Spread the Word: Use your networks to raise awareness. The more people who know about the need for AEDs and FSTs, the more likely we are to gather the support required.
Why It Matters
Think of all the emergencies our first responders face. Whether it’s a heart attack or a raging fire, having the right equipment on hand can mean the difference between life and death. Our local heroes are out there every day, putting their lives on the line for us. It’s our turn to back them up.
Let’s Make a Difference
Brothers, our collective strength is more than just words—it’s in our actions. By rallying together to support the acquisition of AEDs and FSTs, we can significantly impact our communities and ensure that our first responders are well-equipped to handle emergencies.
Every donation, big or small, helps. Let’s unite in our Masonic spirit and show our dedication to service by providing the tools our first responders need. Together, we can make a real difference and continue the great tradition of Freemasonry’s charitable spirit.
In Brotherhood and service,
