La Crosse Freemasons donate $4,000 to local charities

Freemasons from La Crosse Masonic Lodge (No. 190) recently made donations to two La Crosse non-profits that help out local families, thanks, in part, to the Wisconsin Masonic Foundation’s “Acts of Kindness” matching grant program.

WAFER’s mission is to provide food and work to eliminate hunger. WAFER provides 3-4 days worth of groceries to anyone in the greater La Crosse area. WAFER is funded entirely by donations. Brothers from La Crosse Lodge’s donation provided thousands of meals for people in the La Crosse area. Pictured above, WAFER Operations Manager Laurie Sullivan receives a check for $2,000 from Senior Deacon Ric Englebretson, Junior Warden Mark Udovich and Master Todd Wohlert.

The Parenting Place receives a check in the amount of $2,000. The Parenting Place is a place for all who care for young children. Their resources prepare, strengthen, and support parents and caregivers by creating greater understanding of the impact they have on the lives of children in their care. Through such increased understanding, children will have a positive, supportive, and loving start in life. The Parenting Place’s parent education and support programs are available to any parent or other caregiver of children free of charge. They serve the greater La Crosse area.
