In an effort to bolster food assistance in Milwaukee, Freemasons from Wauwatosa Masonic Lodge (No. 267) have purchased a large food freezer for the Interchange Food Pantry (IFP). This significant contribution aims to enhance IFP’s capacity to provide nutritious food to underserved communities, particularly those living in the city’s food deserts.
The new freezer will allow IFP to store a greater variety of perishable items, ensuring that guests have access to fresh produce and high-protein foods. This aligns with IFP’s mission to reduce hunger and promote health among Milwaukee’s most vulnerable populations.
By supporting IFP, the Wauwatosa Lodge exemplifies its commitment to philanthropy and community service, reinforcing the belief that every individual has a role in making the world a better place. This partnership not only strengthens the food pantry’s operations but also highlights the importance of collaboration in addressing food insecurity in the region.
Interchange Food Pantry, established in 1971, continues to serve an increasing number of guests of over 79,000 and also including Thanksgiving dinner giveaways, the Lodge’s contribution will play a crucial role in ensuring that nutritious food remains accessible to those in need.
