The Valley of Milwaukee Scottish Rite is proud to continue its charitable project aimed at supporting Milwaukee’s homeless population through Street Angels Milwaukee Outreach. This dedicated organization provides essential services to those experiencing homelessness via mobile outreach buses three nights a week, offering hot meals, bag lunches, drinking water, hygiene items, clothing, blankets, tents, and most importantly, hope.
In Summer 2024, Street Angels expanded their services by launching “Showers of Hope,” a fully-out昀tted mobile shower trailer. This ADA-compliant facility operates two days a week, four hours per day, in areas of Milwaukee experiencing the highest levels of poverty and homelessness. It offers a clean shower facility to unsheltered individuals and those unable to pay utility bills or without functional shower facilities at home.
We are collecting critically needed items to provide comfort and support this initiative. The list of urgently required items includes:
• NEW underwear (Men’s Med-2XL, Women’s 5-10)
• Sweatpants (Med-XL)
• Men’s Jeans (Waist 30-38)
• Blankets
• Mini Flashlights
• Deodorant
• NEW Adult Socks
• Tarps
These items will directly benefit individuals served by Street Angels, helping to bridge the gap between homelessness and housing through support, advocacy, and community collaboration.
We’ve made it convenient for you to contribute to this important cause. You can drop off donations at our Valley offices on Mondays between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm through January 13, 2025. Alternatively, you can bring items to our Stated Meeting on January 15, 2025. If these times don’t work for you, please contact our Valley Secretary to make special drop-off arrangements.
For those preferring to make a monetary contribution, please mail your donation directly to the Valley office. Make checks payable to the Wisconsin Scottish Rite Foundation and indicate that your donation is for the bene昀t of the Street Angels Homeless Support Project.
While this project may increase community awareness of our Valley of Milwaukee, the true spirit of this endeavor is to tangibly help those less fortunate in our community during challenging times in their lives. Your support, whether through item donations or monetary contributions, will make a significant impact on helping the homeless in our community.
