At Three Pillars Senior Living Communities in Dousman, the Wisconsin Freemasons’ largest focus of charitable support, excitement is in the air. Excitement about growth, about welcoming new residents, and about doing something that no other senior community in the Midwest is doing. This summer, a portion of The Fields, Three Pillars’ campus expansion (artist’s rendering above), is set to open.
With a mission to meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of older adults through high-quality housing and services, every decision made at Three Pillars is guided by what’s best for the residents. As part of that commitment, 2021 marked the start of strategic growth to the tune of a $125 million expansion. It started with a stunning remodel of the skilled nursing community, the Masonic Center for Health & Rehab, as well as the expansion and creation of a remarkable higher-level assisted living community, Riverside Lodge.

That work paved the way for the next expansion, The Fields At Three Pillars–which brings us to today. The Fields occupies the area north of Highway 18/Sunset Drive, across the street and north of the existing campus communities. Construction on The Fields started in 2024, and in the summer of 2025, it begins to open.
The Fields is an active adult community, which adds three distinct types of independent living options and 13 different floor plans to what Three Pillars offers. With 50 Garden Homes (duplexes), 12 Courtyard Homes (fourplexes), and 48 Lofts (apartments) in the initial phases, plus more to come, this will nearly double the campus size.
The Fields also includes a Welcome Center and a new downtown destination, accessible to the entire campus. It will feature a performing arts center, theater, expanded wellness spaces, an art studio, pub, restaurants, outdoor spaces, and more, which builds on Three Pillars’ legacy in this area.

Beyond the buildings, The Fields will see the addition of a dog park, pickleball courts, accessible kayak launch, and community gardens, all highly anticipated enhancements to Three Pillars’ sprawling, wooded, 300-acre campus. The golf-cart friendly and walkable grounds will include a Highway 18 underpass to connect all parts of the campus, and in total, feature over 10 miles of beautiful walking/biking paths with gorgeous views of the Bark River.
Several thoughtful nods to Masonry and Three Pillars’ history are part of The Fields, from street names such as Mason Way and Van Brunt Ln, to the pub called The 1905, to an array of story-telling and display items showcased in the Welcome Center.
Summer of 2025 is a monumental time for Three Pillars, as The Fields will welcome its first residents into 18 Courtyard and Garden Homes. Additionally, the Welcome Center will open its doors as several employees and the Grand Lodge move into its offices. It will serve as a gateway to Three Pillars, and a warm, comfortable space to immerse in the community’s rich Masonic history.

All are invited to attend the Masonic Cornerstone Ceremony at The Fields: Sat., April 12 at 1pm. Stay tuned for more information on the grand opening celebration in July.
