La Crosse Freemasons Donate $4,000 to Local Non-Profits

Freemasons from La Crosse Masonic Lodge No. 190 made donations of $2,000 each to two La Crosse non-profits that help out local families, WAFER and Parenting Place. The Lodge Master and Secretary/Treasurer, along with Wisconsin Masonic Foundation Executive Director Adam Rigden, made the presentations.

WAFER’s mission is to provide food and work to eliminate hunger. WAFER provides 3-4 days’ worth of groceries to anyone in the greater La Crosse area. WAFER is funded entirely by donations. The Lodge’s donation provided thousands of meals for people in the La Crosse area.

The Parenting Place is a place for all who care for young children. Their resources prepare, strengthen, and support parents and caregivers by creating greater understanding of the impact they have on the lives of children in their care. The Parenting Place’s parent education and support programs are available to any parent or other caregiver of children free of charge. They serve the greater La Crosse area. This year, the donation helps with matching funds for a Play Group program. Pictured at the top of the article, The Parenting Place Executive Director Jodi Widuch receives a check from Master Robert Laskey and Secretary/Treasurer Todd Wohlert PM.

Earlier this year, the Lodge bought a new AED unit for the La Crosse Masonic Center in La Crosse in conjunction with the Masonic Foundation.
