Freemasons host 38th annual Lodi Easter Egg Hunt

By Brother John Donaldson

Egg hunters were not deterred by the rainy conditions on Holy Saturday as droves of youngsters and their parents came to the Lodi Elementary School for the annual Lodi Valley Lodge No. 99 Easter egg hunt.

There were three designated areas, one for toddlers, another for the younger elementary students and a third for the pre-teens.

This was the 38th year for the popular event.

Brother Greg Flanagan fills one of the many balloons that were distributed while Master Seth Markgraf waits to tie it up.

The Brothers showed up bright and early to inflate balloons, show the Easter Bunny where to hide the eggs and to set up a bounty of prizes for the many lucky kids who found winning numbers along with the candy inside their eggs.

Everyone was getting in on the fun, even the four-legged egg hunters.

Then, at 10 a.m., the participants were off and running after hearing the rules from the Most Eggcellent Easter Hunt Chairman Roger Haarklau.

Committee chairman Roger Haarklau explains the rules prior to sending the youngsters on their search.
