The La Crosse Shrine Club held their 76th annual Potentate party steak fry in honor of Zor Potentate Steve Livernash and Lady Coral on Aug. 1. Grand Master Joseph E. Thompson and Lady Julie also attended the party for the first time since 2010 when the Grand Master served as Zor Potentate. This is the first time a sitting Grand Master has attended this party in recent history. Over 60 people attended this event at this one-of-a-kind location.

The Jansky’s, a La Crosse-based Masonic family built a cabin on the bluff on the Minnesota side of the Mississippi River, just north of La Crescent, Minnesota. They hosted the first Potentate party in 1950 and the La Crosse Shrine Club has continued the tradition ever since. The cabin had a porch added on to it at one point to make room for more party-goers. It has a breathtaking view of the River Valley where you can regularly see an eagle or a hawk hanging in the air, riding the wind.
